Veraison is Berkmann Wine Cellars’ independent training division and is responsible for providing an industry led, comprehensive teaching experience on wine.
The Veraison programmes focus on delivering personalised, unique, in-house created modules which are designed to improve the knowledge and service of customer facing hospitality staff. In addition, Veraison is very proud to be an Approved WSET Programme Provider allowing the delivery of WSET courses to our trade customers and our own employees.
We are looking for a passionate and inspirational individual to lead our wine education division. You will be the face of Veraison for both internal and external stakeholders. You will have sublime communication skills that complement your wine kudos, as well as being commercially focussed and having good project management ability. WSET Diploma qualified (being a WSET certified educator is desirable) will be a prerequisite to justify candidacy for this role. You will have an ability to inspire, be self-starting and have a positive, cheerful attitude.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES (will include, but are not limited to):
- Redefine, drive and implement the Veraison strategy and vision
- Manage the IP of Veraison, proactively propagate the benefits internally as well as externally
- Where necessary, support the Head of Trade Marketing with new customer pitches, bringing to life training programs to highlight our depth of trade marketing support
- Manage budgets, you will need to be analytical and numerate
- Work closely with the sales team to assess and advise on the required training for each customer to maximise productivity and achieve agreed KPIs
- Have overall responsibility for the development and delivery of inspirational and engaging wine training sessions, focused on the unique Veraison training modules as well as WSET education
- Manage the education team and ensure that their teaching meets the standards required
- Develop Veraison curriculum for in-person training sessions
- Develop an E-learning strategy and multimedia training content
- Oversee the course booking process, track delivered wine training sessions and report on training ROI
- Oversee internal and external Veraison marketing, including social media management
Working Pattern
This role is 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday and whilst the core hours are 9:00 to 17:30 there will be some evening or weekend work required.
This role does require wide UK travel.
Working Location
You will be expected to work in our London office twice a week, but this may increase in the future. The remaining days you will either be field based, visiting trade customer venues, or working remotely. As the majority of the training is conducted in London you will need to live within commuting distance. When necessary you will need to travel around the UK in order to ensure the department fulfils customer requirements.

The appointed candidate will be given the below package:
- Salary is up to £40,000 per annum, depending upon experience
- 25 days annual leave (rising to 26 days after 5 years’ service & 27 days after 10 years’ service) plus bank holidays
