The 12 days of a Berkmann Christmas (Days 7, 8 and 9)

Thank you for following us through to week 3 of the advent calendar, there’s been an on-going favourite of pigs in blankets so far but we have 6 more wonderful insights into the traditions of our employees until we wrap up for Christmas!

 

Andrew Bond, Delivery Driver

 

Behind door number seven is Andrew Bond, one of our brilliant delivery drivers who
makes sure all the wine orders reach our customers before the celebrations commence.
What are your Christmas traditions in your household?

My family and many of our friends ring church bells, so we always ring for Midnight on
Christmas Eve, celebrating with a glass or two of mulled wine afterwards.

 

What is your favourite food to eat at Christmas?

Our favourite food would be a baked marmalade gammon which I glaze with orange marmalade.

 

And what would be your ideal wine choice?

The best wine for any time of year is the Rose et Or (code: 464220) from Château Minuty.

 

Kavina Surenthiran, Credit Controller

 

On the 8th day of Christmas, we caught up with Kavina Surenthiran, Credit Controller in
our Finance department, and asked her what is her favourite thing to do at Christmas?

There is nothing better than a Christmas movie marathon or ice skating with friends in the run up to the
big day. We always go to the Christmas service at Church with my family and of course exchange lots of gifts!

 

What would be your favourite Christmas food?

Who wouldn’t love a traditional Christmas dinner? (minus the Brussel sprouts for me though).
I can’t forget to include Mums scrumptious home-made chocolate brownies…yum.

 

And which wine would you choose to drink?

My top pick is the Yarra Yering Chardonnay (code: 733560), it goes brilliantly
with Christmas dinner and I think probably the best Chardonnay I’ve ever tried!

 

Guillaume Rodet, Head of Brand Management

 

On day 9 of our 12 days of Christmas, we’re transported to France to hear about a traditional
French Christmas at Guillaume Rodet’s house…what is tradition for your household at Christmas?

In my family, it’s all about food really. We light the fire, pop open some Champagne
and cook up a storm on Christmas Eve. Then press repeat for Christmas day.

 

What is your favourite Christmas food?

One of my favourites is also the most simple. Truffle omelette for dinner on Christmas day
with an old vintage Bordeaux.

 

What wine would you pick to drink on Christmas day?

This October, I had the chance to visit Ferraton again in Tain l’Hermitage, which reminded me
of how much I love Northern Rhone wines. I will be drinking a bottle of Ermitage les Dionniéres (code: 430444).
