The 12 days of a Berkmann Christmas (Days 10, 11 and 12)

It’s the final week of our 12 days of Christmas, we hope you’ve enjoyed the behind the scenes feature and learnt a bit more about our wonderful staff. Have a read through of the final 3 days on our advent calendar before we wish you a very merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!


Sarah Clark, Head of HR


Behind door number 1o today, it’s not our prime minister but the Head of HR,
Sarah Clark, and she told us all about the traditions at her house.

We always do Christmas stockings for our daughters; Georgia and Eleanor, even though they
are now 26 and 22 years old. We put the filled stockings outside their bedroom doors on Christmas
morning and when they wake up, they come into our room and open them together. Wrapping paper,
Sellotape and tinsel always ends up all over the bed!


What is your favourite food to eat at Christmas?

We have a fillet of beef for our Christmas day meal which we eat about 6pm and usually by candlelight!


And what would be your ideal wine choice?

We absolutely loved the Ridge Vineyards Geyserville (code: 770350) which we had as a Christmas
gift from the company last year and I have bought some more to have this year! Delicious.


Elisa, Senior Brand Manager (Italy)


On the 11th day of Christmas, we caught up with our Italian Brand Manager,
Elisa to find out what a traditional Christmas is like in her house. What is a must
in your household at Christmas time?

We always open presents as soon as we wake up on Christmas morning and also
the dining table needs to look festive.


What is your favourite Christmas food?

Similar to a lot of Italian families, Tortellini in broth is a must have for our Christmas lunch.


And which wine would you choose to drink?

We tend to choose different wines from all over the world and this year our red will
be Alión Ribera del Duero (code: 616337) from Vega Sicilia.

AND last but not least, on the 12th and final day of 12 days of a Berkmann Christmas, we asked
the London Sales Account Manager, Michele Cortese, what is tradition for him at Christmas…

My family usually celebrates Christmas with dinner on the 24th, not on the 25th as most people do. We celebrate
together, wait for midnight and then open the Christmas presents in front of our fireplace after dinner.


What is your favourite Christmas food?

My favourite food for Christmas is Tortellini in broth.


Which wine would you love to drink at Christmas?

To pair with the Tortellini in broth, I always choose the fantastic Franciacorta
Zero Dosage Noir (code:580514) from Ca’ del Bosco.
